What should a baby wear to sleep in summer?
In warmer weather, you can dress your baby in a short sleeve zipsuit or bodysuit, or just a nappy and singlet. If you are using a sleeping bag, choose a bag with a temperature rating (TOG) that is suitable for the temperature of the room. For younger babies being swaddled or wrapped is the best option. We recommend lightweight, breathable fabrics such as muslin and cotton. Sleeping bags dont generally get used until your baby starts to roll. If you are using sheets and a blanket, make sure they are lightweight and breathable muslin or cotton fabric.
Organic cotton is a great fabric to have in your baby's wardrobe, especially during summer, use organic cotton or muslin wraps for swaddling. For the sleeping bag, go with one made of organic cotton or another light weight fabric that will keep your baby cool while they sleep. Organic cotton is a natural fabric that's grown without the use of chemicals, pesticides and fertilisers. It's also an excellent choice for your baby because it's breathable, soft and comfortable for sensitive skin.
Muslin wraps for swaddling
When is comes to a newborn baby, swaddling is essential. It can help soothe a fussy baby and make them feel safe, secure and comforted. Our muslin baby wraps are light and breathable, which means your little one won't get too hot in the summertime. They're also easy to wash, making them a great option for families with lots of dirty laundry!
The best part about swaddling is that it's versatile—you can use muslin wraps as burp cloths or blankets, and you can even tie the wrap around your neck during hot weather to protect yourself from the sun's rays or for some privacy during breastfeeding.

When your baby begins to roll you will need to start using a baby sleeping bag. If you are unsure how to choose the right one, you’ve come to the right place. A summer weight sleeping bag is designed for use in warm weather and doesn’t provide as much insulation as a winter weight sleeping bag. Sleeping bags are TOG rated by the manufacturer, a TOG rating is the temperature of garment. Our summer weight sleeping bags are TOG tested at 0.9 making them perfect for summertime!
